Swami Vivekananda
Introduction:-Swami Vivekananda is a common
name in Bengal. He was a great monk, the preacher of Hindu religion, larbinger
and savior of mankind.
Birth and
Parentage:-He came of a famous Dutta family of simulia in Kolkata on 12th January in 1863.
His father was Biswanath Dutta, a renowned lawyer, and his mother Bhubaneswari
Debi was a pious lady.
Childhood:-His original name
was Narendranath Dutta but his parents called him Billey. Since his childhood,
he was a meritorious, intelligent, courageous, meditated, and a little bit
naughty boy. He had a great curiosity about religion and God.
Work-life:-Later, he
met Shri Ramkrishna and became him, devoted follower. He profound knowledge about
Hindu religion. He showed sympathy to all the poor, down-class and down-trodden
people and addressed them as a brother. He went to Chicago to attend a religious
conference to glorify the Hindu religion and won the heart of people all over
the world. According to him,” Serving man is serving God”. He set up
Ramkrishna Mission and Belur Math at Belur.
Death:-This great hero monk
breathed his last on 2nd July in 1902.
Conclusion:-Though, he is no more in
this living world but his contributions will last forever.
